HYDROXYCITRONELLAL - 7-hydroksy-3,7-dimetylooktanal, lepka ciecz o utrzymującym się przyjemnym kwiatowym zapachu z nutami konwalii i lilii. Pojawienie się hydroksycytronelalu w 1908 roku uznano za wielki sukces w chemii substancji aromatycznych. Jednocześnie opracowano metodę syntezy tego produktu z cytronelalu.
